How much would I pay for motorcycle insurance in Hawaii?

June 6th, 2010

Question by Roxanne M: How much would I pay for motorcycle insurance in Hawaii?
How much would it cost to insure a 500cc or less motorcycle in Hawaii for a full-time female college student with a 3.0 or better GPA who is 19 years of age and single and has one speeding ticket on her record? I would just like a ballpark range to work with so I can decide whether or not I want to buy a motorcycle for going to college and work while I’m here in Hawaii. I passed a motorcycle safety course and have my M1 license. I want to know if I could afford the insurance.

Contact an insurance agent, preferably one that is independent, and ask.

There are too many variables to get an answer here.

no health insurance and have a preexisting condition. Can I start work? or is there any insurance available?

June 5th, 2010

Question by love: no health insurance and have a preexisting condition. Can I start work? or is there any insurance available?
I live in GA. We just got an insurance and told them about this condition. It’s very small surgery for my daughter. but now they are denying it. Is there any other insurance I can take? or if I get insurance through work would that help?

Best answer:

Answer by Lo S
Some group policies at work do not care about preexisting conditions.
Some do. It is usually the private ones, not work connected that
up the rates. Probably something to do with—- if you can work, then
you probably are not too sick, or disabled, so you can be insured.
If it is a dependent child, would you need to take insurance for you
as well as the child, and what is the waiting period.
Work insurance takes a while to go into effect. You may have a rider
or whatever it is called, that will exclude treatment, or make you wait
so long to have insurance, or treatment for the preexisting condition.
I don’t know for sure, you could find out some how who the employer
or potential employer uses and check it out on line or by calling the company.

How does the insurance company find out about moving violations?

June 4th, 2010

Question by fgeel: How does the insurance company find out about moving violations?
My understanding is that when you get a moving violation (e.g, a speeding ticket), the police or the courts or whoever will notify your insurance company. When your insurance company finds out and finds out about the points that are now on your license, they raise your insurance premium. However, a friend tells me that he’s received several speeding tickets, that his insurance company has never found out (meaning no one is notifying his insurance company), and that his premium has therefore never gone up. How is that possible?

Motorcycle Accident, i have no insurance, can i sue?

June 3rd, 2010

Question by Earl B: Motorcycle Accident, i have no insurance, can i sue?
I was driving home from work, on my motorcycle, i dont have a moto license or insurance (i do have a regular license) this dude runs a red light and i end up crashing into him, breaking my left femur and fracturing my left arm. i still have a case right?
I am in California…

Depending on the state you are in, yes you still can make a claim. If you are in California then you got a problem. They have laws that make it very difficult for uninsured people to get paid for injury claims.

By the way no need to sue right away. You “make a claim” to the other guys insurance company, if its allowed. They will tell you what you are allowed to collect on and how it will work.

And go buy some insurance.

How can people say insurance companies should be able to deny based on pre-existing conditions?

June 2nd, 2010

Question by Kevin B.: How can people say insurance companies should be able to deny based on pre-existing conditions?
Let’s look at an example.

Bob has a job. He has health insurance. He gets cancer, and his insurance company pays for his tens of thousands of dollars worth of treatments.

The economy goes south, Bob gets laid off. He has to choose between health insurance and losing his house, so he obviously needs to stop the insurance. Later, Bob gets re-hired, and despite the fact that he can afford insurance, he can never get it again, because he has a pre-existing condition.

But no, we need LESS government regulation of the insurance industry. LOL!

Does motorcycle insurance cheaper the older the bike compared to a new one?

June 1st, 2010

Question by henryaguirre@ymail.com: Does motorcycle insurance cheaper the older the bike compared to a new one?
I 24 yrs old and i am looking to buy my first bike. Insurance is very pricey for a young buck. If i was to buy an older model motorcycle would insurance be cheaper.

Best answer:

Answer by auburn
I guess that would depend upon what company you go with. I know I have our race bikes insured and my oldest son who doesn’t race as much anymore has a 2 year old crf250r. The insurance is less on his bike than his brothers new race bikes with all the added extras as we usually have to state how much the bikes would be worth for replacement cost.

Question by ..???..: When will the Insurance Lobby force us to have Medical insurance like the did Auto insurance?
Forced auto insurance, seat belt laws, helmet laws, child safety seats, laws and regulations, all brought upon us by insurance companies who use government regulation to maximize their profits.
Isn’t it only a matter of time before they get their friends in Washington to make Health Insurance Mandatory?
Or is that the republican plan for reform?

Is Motorcycle insurance the same price as car insurance or is it cheaper?

May 30th, 2010

Question by stagn4life89: Is Motorcycle insurance the same price as car insurance or is it cheaper?
I had a coupld of friends that have motorcycles and some that have cars. They don’t pay for their own insurance but i wanted to know if by any chance if motorcycle insurance is cheaper then auto insurance. I know auto insurance these days are sky high. But since a motorcycle is a lot smaller, shouldn’t insurance for it be cheaper for it?

Best answer:

Answer by the_cheeze_cop
Motorcycle insurance is CHEAPER than cars. I pay around 5 for a year….FULL COVERAGE, etc. through Progressive for my H-D. Check around and compare.
