What’s wrong with higher taxes on the rich when our government is their insurance policy?
The Names Mud asked:
It’s funny that our government is their bankruptcy insurance.
It’s funny that our government is their bankruptcy insurance.
If I lost my job and was losing my house I’d be put on a waiting list before I got any help.
I have health insurance… That’s it. Not funding my 401k yet, but I am smarter than the average American, and I know not to invest in oil.
I’m going with gold, not the oil market, which is soon to crash. Expect to see more bail outs, because every person I know does not want to buy gasoline, they have to.
So to answer the answer of the oh so wise one, who just calls me lazy, but doesn’t know me. I can afford to live, it is them I am bailing out.

Who is your insurance policy? Obviously you aren’t wealthy. You must be one of those who believe they are entitled. Try working more and whinning less.

The idea of taxing the rich creates a problem that one must offer a solution to. Consider this fact: Jobs are created by Corporations and small businesses. There is no denying this. Those that start businesses can become rich, while those running Corporations usually get rich. The profits these people make are reinvested, to a large extent, back into the business by hiring more workers, expanding their market share, etc. When government taxes a business, it is taking money that could be used for growth and putting it into its pocket. As taxes go up (and more money is lost) there is less to invest in the business.
Government does not create jobs, it influences the ability of businesses to expand or contract based on its’ economic policy. This influence has been, unfortunately, growing to near socialist levels.
I agree with your disgust at having to bail out businesses. I am a firm believer in allowing people to get rich, but I also believe that that goal may not happen or may come to an end. That is the risk of doing business. THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER SHOULD NOT BE ASKED TO BAILOUT BUSINESSES THAT GO BUST!
